Atlanta Symphony Hall

An American in Paris

May 29-May 31, 2025

8PM

Atlanta Symphony Hall
1280 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

Audience favorite Kirill Gerstein returns to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. "A peerless performer with so much to express" (The Guardian), Gerstein plays Ravel's Piano Concerto for the Left Hand, a piquant piece with jazzy underpinnings. The popular guest conductor Stephane Deneve keeps with the French theme throughout with Ibert's lighthearted Escales, "Ports of Call," a trio of musical postcards from a trip abroad. The ASO re-enacts The Creation of the World with an extra shot of French whimsy, courtesy of Darius Milhaud, and ends on a high with Gershwin's irresistible love letter to the French capital, An American in Paris.
