Event Description:
One of the great cultural icons of our time, superstar cellist Yo-Yo Ma performs Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1 and the smoky, South American-groove aria Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by Villa-Lobos. Guest conductor Eric Jacobsen, a member of the famous Silkroad Ensemble, serves up a musical variety show, including an opener by the GRAMMY-nominated, genre-bending composer Curtis Stewart. Wrapping up the evening, the powerhouse Atlanta Symphony Orchestra goes all out in the thumping, folk-inspired Symphony No. 8 by Dvorak.
